Drivers of commercial buses, popularly called ‘Danfo', along the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, are protesting over the incessant extortion they face from state officials. They are accusing the men of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences Unit (Task Force) and officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) of extortion.

A video emerged online capturing officers who say they are from the Lagos State Vehicle Waste Basket agency (LAVMAB) accosting a man for using a wastebasket he bought from Ekiti in a Lagos State registered vehicle.⁣ ⁣ However, the Commissioner for environment Lagos, Tunji Bello, claimed that the persons seen in the video were not authorized by the state to harass and extort motorist and that the agency does not exist.⁣
