Sofiya, one of thousands of Kyiv residents who spent their sixth night at a metro station seeking shelter from Russian missile and rocket attacks, choked back tears as she spoke about Ukrainian families' ordeal. "It is terrible how many kids are there. We want to live as independent, normal country. And thank you that so many countries can hear us and support us. I hope all this violence and cruelness ends soon, ” she said.

Throughout the day we read and see stories of destruction, cruelty, pain and suffering. French author Cyril Bruyelle decided to take a trip around our planet, armed with 20 questions and a determination to ask as wide a range of people as possible to respond to them, from past presidents to pastors. The goal: to get a real view of the world as humans see and feel it; to find out whether it's a predominately cruel or kind place to be. He concluded that we have much more in common than we think. He joined us for Perspective.

In yet another case of animal cruelty, an unidentified man killed a troop of monkeys days back in Delta State. In the video that has now gone viral, the maimed monkeys could be seen with blood stains, apparently from gunshots.
