The Lagos state government through its Ministry of Agriculture held a Food Festival to stimulate investors’ interest in the food business at the Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island. The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu who assumed the role of a chef along with Big Brother Naija season 6 winner, White Money to cook a delicacy encouraged the sellers to take advantage of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) to grow their businesses, noting that part of the event’s objectives was to boost the entrepreneurial spirit of the residents.

In January 2021 Clare Smyth became the first British woman chef to be awarded three Michelin stars, for her Notting Hill restaurant 'Core', becoming only the fourth British chef to ever receive the honour. She says it was "brilliant that it happened in such a difficult year", and as restaurants prepare to welcome diners back for indoor service she says she expects "many, many more top female chefs" to come through in the years ahead.

Pastry chef Walter Musco turns his shop in Rome's working-class Tor Marancia district into an art gallery displaying Easter eggs sculpted in hommage to great names from the worlds of art and literature. The creations of the self-taught "pasticciere" are fully edible, although can also be stored uneaten for years, Musco says, provided they are kept cool and out of the sun.
