The South Africa's 'Banyana Banyana' head to their first World Cup with hope and high spirit, despite being in the 'group of death'. In France they will have to face, with Germany, Spain and China. The runner-up to the last African Cup of Nations will be led by their long time captain Janine Van Wyk, the 2018 African player of the year Thembi Kgatlana and the 2018 African coach of the year Desiree Ellis.
