Tokyo 2020 to be rescheduled to no later than summer 2021

The IOC and Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee agree that the Olympic Games will be rescheduled no later than the summer of 2021.

Maana Patel made India's Olympic history on Friday (July 2) by becoming the country's first female swimmer to qualify for Tokyo 2020, after world governing body FINA approved her participation under the universality quota following some strong performances in European meets in the last three months. The universality quota allows one female and male participant each from a country to take part in the Olympics, provided no other swimmer from the same gender qualifies for the competition through the normal process.
