The Mercedes F1 team's new 2017 car, the FW08, was glimpsed on the track for the first time on Thursday, February 23 before its formal unveiling.

Mercedes-Benz showcased its concept electric car 'VISION AVTR' designed in collaboration with Disney and inspired by James Cameron’s blockbuster Avatar at the International Motor Show in Munich on Monday. According to the brand, the key feature of the futuristic super car is the use of brain-computer interfaces (BCI) technology which allow the driver to use mind control ‘as a new dimension of human interaction with the vehicle.’ The vehicle was unveiled to the public at a car show last year, but it’s the first time it presented the BCI functions at work. In Munich, the company also showed some of its latest models including an electric Maybach.

George Russell will race for Mercedes next season in an all-British line-up with seven times world champion Lewis Hamilton, the Formula One team said in a widely-expected announcement on Tuesday (September 7).
Russell, who is in his third season at Williams, will replace Finland's Valtteri Bottas whose move to Alfa Romeo was made official on Monday.
The 23-year-old will be Hamilton's first new team mate since Bottas, now 32, also joined from Williams to take the place of retired 2016 world champion Nico Rosberg in 2017.
