Starting on November 6, Egypt will host the COP27 climate change conference. Nearly 100 heads of state are expected in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh. The waters of the Nile, a symbol of prosperity in Egypt since ancient times, are no longer enough to support the needs of a growing population. The COP27 UN climate summit began on Monday in the Red Sea town of Sharm el-Sheikh, in the hope of averting the worst impacts of climate change. World leaders, policymakers and delegates from nearly 200 countries have gathered to discuss the future of the planet.
