Biles by miles: Gymnast Simone Biles claims record 5th world title

A federal judge on Thursday sentenced Larry Nassar, the former USA Gymnastics team doctor accused of sexually assaulting gymnasts, to 60 years in prison on federal child pornography charges that grew out of a sex abuse investigation.

Rachael Denhollander, the first woman to publicly accuse Larry Nassar in 2016, claimed that Michigan State University and USA Gymnastics knew about allegations of abuse against Larry Nassar years ago and failed to act.

The remaining directors of the U.S. gymnastics governing body are resigning in the wake of this week's sentencing of the former national team doctor for molesting female athletes, USA Gymnastics said on Friday, complying with a demand by the U.S. Olympic Committee.

The governing body is being sued by hundreds of women who were sexually abused by Larry Nassar, a former team doctor. The filing could complicate efforts by the victims to recover damages.
