Without urgent action, one in six children worldwide will be out of school by 2030, a new UNESCO report warns. Former New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark told DW the world is walking towards "an enormous failure."

The International Committee of the Red Cross said the children were evacuated from an orphanage in Khartoum, where they were trapped by ongoing fighting.
French President Emmanuel Macron on Friday visited a hospital that admitted four children injured a day earlier in a stabbing attack. The children were wounded on Thursday in the Alpine town of Annecy in the eastern Haute-Savoie region.
