Modi woos Sri Lanka, Maldives as India fends off Chinese influence

Indian Premier Narendra Modi has arrived in Sri Lanka on a brief visit that New Delhi says emphasizes his "neighborhood-first policy." China is also trying to exert its influence in both Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

"When the vaccine comes, I’m ready. I’m ready to take a shot," says one man in India's capital, New Delhi after two Covid-19 vaccines were approved for use, kicking off one of the world's biggest inoculation drives.
