Major rescue operation as Delhi hit by new blaze

Firefighters rescue residents from deadly flooding in China's Henan province. The rainfall in the region was the heaviest since record-keeping began 60 years ago.

Some residents have decided not to leave their homes despite the Dixie Fire that has been raging in the forests of northern California since mid-July. The fires have grown so big that it is generating its own weather system.

A total of 141 firefighters have been mobilised to contain a forest blaze at the base of Mount Penteli north of Athens. The fire service are backed by 10 helicopters and eight firefighting planes, but said strong winds were complicating operations.
