A further 39 people on board the Diamond Princess cruise ship off the Japan coast have tested positive for the new coronavirus as thousands more steel themselves for a second week in quarantine.

Passengers will have to pass health checks before disembarking. Health authorities have not ruled out mass quarantine on the ship if there are any confirmed cases of the coronavirus infection found among the passengers.
