Israel: Jerusalem Post site hacked on anniversary of killing of top Iranian general

The Israeli news site is back to normal functioning after being hacked with a pro-Iran image. The incident comes as Iran prepares to mark two years since the killing of Qassem Soleimani.

Security forces and members of the public clashed repeatedly as pallbearers carried the journalist's coffin. Veteran reporter Shireen Abu Akleh was shot in the head while covering an Israeli military operation.

Israel's police chief has ordered a probe into the actions of officers at the funeral of reporter Shireen Abu Akleh in Jerusalem. Germany's top diplomat, Annalena Baerbock, said she was "deeply shocked" by the events.

A renounced Al Jazeera journalist was killed last week during an Israeli raid in the West Bank. Shireen Abu Akhleh was wearing a flak jacket with the word "press" clearly marked. Israelis and Palestinians have traded blame over who fired the fatal shot, while Israel has opened an investigation into heavy-handed police tactics used during Abu Akleh's funeral procession, which almost caused her coffin to fall to the ground.
