Young people in Zimbabwe, including many first-time voters, could determine the election winner. But is Jamaican dancehall music enough to win them over?

Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa said he was confident he would win the election on Wednesday after casting his vote in Kwekwe.

Zimbabwe's opposition is seeking to unseat President Emmerson Mnangagw's ZANU-PF party, which has ruled since the country's independence in 1980.

The Bongo family has ruled Gabon for more than 50 years. Saturday's presidential election isn't expected to change that. The tiny oil-rich nation is grappling with high unemployment while the elite live luxuriously.

Zimbabwe's opposition blasted a "fundamentally flawed" electoral process, saying that delays, intimidation and other irregularities meant the ballot was "unable to produce a free and fair electoral outcome."

Opposition leader Nelson Chamisa decried the Zimbabwe election as a case of "blatant" fraud, disputing the reported victory of President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Protests broke out after it was revealed that the minister had met with her Israeli counterpart, possibly breaking Libyan law. The minister is now facing an investigation.

Lawyers for former Donald Trump had argued that they would need until 2026 to read through all the documents in the case. Trump is running to be the Republican candidate in the 2024 election.

The former president is accused of 13 felonies, including racketeering, for allegedly pressuring state officials to overturn his 2020 election defeat.

The vote for the largely ceremonial role is widely viewed as a test of support for the ruling People's Action Party.
