Germany: Vaccination campaign for refugees

More than 300,000 Ukrainians have arrived in Germany, many with no protection against COVID-19. Germany's local and regional authorities are trying to get in touch with these people to persuade them that vaccination will boost their chances.

They were able to leave Libya thanks to the Emergency Transfer Mechanism, a programme set up by the UNHCR to evacuate migrants to Niger. Nearly 4,000 people have been evacuated from Libya through this mechanism since 2018.
