Top infectious disease specialist Anthony Fauci warns mid-January to be "a really dark time" for the US unless "substantial mitigation" is carried out, during a press briefing by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases predicts a "surge upon a surge" with Christmas and Hanukkah celebrations coming shortly after Thanksgiving.
