In Afghanistan, women have now been waiting for three months for their fate to be decided by the Taliban government. With winter school holidays coming up, women in Kabul fear that the Taliban will simply play for time and postpone any decision on the issue. Noise rang out across Senegal's capital Dakar on Wednesday evening as people honked car horns and banged on pots and pans in an unusual form of protest organised by the political opposition ahead of legislative elections next month.
