Activist Chanel Contos on the importance of sexual consent education

A woman who is leading what is quickly becoming a worldwide campaign to stop sexual violence has told FRANCE 24 why she believes consent education in schools is the best way to drastically reduce the problem. Chanel Contos was sexually assaulted at just 13 years old and at the time didn't even realise that what happened to her was wrong.

This Wednesday is International Wetlands Day. Worldwide, wetlands cover 12.1 million km². But more than 30 percent have been lost over the past 50 years, despite them playing a crucial role in mitigating the impact of climate change. One example is the Mangroves National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
