Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, re-elected Governor of Rivers State, on Wednesday, in the presence of thousands of Rivers people and other prominent Nigerians, took the oath of office to commence his second term.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has issued a stern warning to all traditional rulers in the state, not to host his counterpart in Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson. He threatened to dethrone any erring monarch.

Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa has accused his counterpart in Rivers State of inciting ethnic disharmony in Ijawland to suit a political agenda.

In Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, unidentified security personnel stormed the home of former managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Joi Nunieh.⁣ ⁣ Their bid to pick up the former NDDC boss without an arrest warrant was however thwarted by the Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike who came to her rescue before whisking her away to the safety of Government House, Port Harcourt.⁣
