Cameroonian social media celebrity Shakiro has described how she and fellow transgender woman Patricia were put in chains during the five months they have spent in prison. They were released on Friday pending an appeal against their five-year sentences for "attempted homosexuality".
Shiite leader Ibrahim Zakzaky and his wife have been in jail since 2015. On Wednesday, a Nigerian court acquitted the couple and ordered their release.

At the start of the pandemic, London-based Palestinian actor, filmmaker and music producer Mo'min Swaitat discovered 10,000 tapes in the West Bank while in lockdown there – music that documented a moment in Palestinian history that hadn't been heard for 30 years.
