Senate to NDDC: Stakeholders must be consulted on projects before budget defence

The Senate’s Public Accounts Committee has vowed to investigate alleged over-spending by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).The Senate said it is interested in some areas of expenditure of the NDDC.The Senate's planned investigation is coming a few days after President Muhammadu Buhari ordered a forensic audit of the operations of the NDDC.

In Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, unidentified security personnel stormed the home of former managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Joi Nunieh.
Their bid to pick up the former NDDC boss without an arrest warrant was however thwarted by the Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike who came to her rescue before whisking her away to the safety of Government House, Port Harcourt.
