At least one person died and over 550,000 buildings in Alabama, Florida and Mississippi lost power. The National Guard is sending 200 troops to Alabama to help with rescue efforts.

A five-member board will now be appointed to oversee the government services provided in the state's Disney properties. DeSantis is taking aim at Disney over the company's opposition to the state's "Don't Say Gay" law. The move also comes ahead of an expected announcement of his 2024 presidential run.
