US regulator sues crypto giant Binance, CEO Changpeng Zhao

The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission charged the world's biggest crypto exchange and its CEO Changpeng Zhao with "willful evasion" of US law. Zhao has rejected the allegations against him.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has disagreed with the Central Bank of Nigeria to ban Crypto-Currencies transactions in the country. Osinbajo spoke at the CBN/Bankers Committee’s Initiative for Economic Growth in Lagos and called on the CBN and the Securities and Exchange Commission to put in place a robust framework for the regulation of Crypto-Currencies. The CBN had ban Crypto-Currencies usage in Nigeria a few weeks ago.

The world’s first gallery to display NFT digital art in a physical location has opened its doors to visitors in New York City, seen Friday. Superchief Gallery's first exhibition "Season One Starter Pack" displays the artworks of 300 artists on high-resolution 4k screens. ''This is the world's first physical NFT gallery space and what we wanted to do is show the way that NFT artwork would look in the home of the collector. Giving people an opportunity to see what an NFT actually looks like, and it’s presented the way the artist intended it. High resolution, 4k, 60 frames per second. It's really important to show the industry standard as it should be,'' Edward Zipco, co-founder and director of Superchief Gallery NFT.

Malaysian police have hit on a novel way to dispose of more than 1,000 bitcoin-mining machines seized in raids -- crushing the devices using a steamroller. Authorities on Borneo island discovered the machines, worth an estimated 5.3 million ringgit ($1.25 million), in crackdowns between February and April, and say they were powered using stolen electricity.

Nigerian artist Sly Megida has been using cryptocurrency platforms to sell his pieces after COVID-19 lockdowns and fluctations in the naira's value forced him to reconfigure his business. Nigeria's Central Bank barred local banks from working with cryptocurrencies in February, warning of "severe regulatory sanctions" and freezing accounts of firms it says are using them.
