Standard Life Plc has agreed to purchase Aberdeen Asset Management Plc in a $4.7 billion deal that would create one of Europe's largest fund managers.

Saudi Arabia shut its side of Qatar's only land border in June 2017 as part of a package of sanctions it said was a response to Doha's backing of radical Islamist groups and closeness to Iran. Qatar has always denied the charges.

Disney's shares have rallied after the company reported better than expected results for its latest quarter. Sales came in at €16.2 billion, down 22 percent from the previous year, amid a continuing hit from the pandemic.
