Twin girls wow Senegal with baccalaureate triumph aged 13

Twins Aminata and Ramatoulaye Diaw have impressed Senegal by achieving their baccalaureate at the age of only 13, a new record in the African nation.

In Group B, Senegal stay on top despite a disappointing 0-0 draw with Malawi. Plus, already-eliminated Zimbabwe go out with a victory against Guinea, who nevertheless move on to the knockout stage. We bring you the latest from the Africa Cup of Nations, where Senegal have finished top of their group, while four-time champions Ghana have crashed out of the tournament. But first, Mozambique's Defence and Security forces (FDS) say they have captured one of the leaders of the jihadist insurgency that's wreaked havoc in the region of Cabo Delgado. Also, shops were shuttered and streets barricaded in Khartoum after at least seven people were killed in protests on Monday in Sudan. And we see how Tanzania's first Netflix film "Binti" gives women a voice.

Egypt came back from a Sofiane Boufal penalty to claim a 2-1 victory over Morocco in their quarter final match on Sunday. Mohamed Salah equalised for the Pharao's before setting up Trézéguet in extra time to knock out the Atlas Lions. In the other game, Senegal's Sadio Mané returned to set up Famara Diedhiou for their opener only for Equatorial Guinea to respond through Jannick Buyla. But Cheikhou Kouyaté & Ismaïla Sarr made sure of the 3-1 win for the Lions of Teranga.

Senegal is set to face Burkina Faso in the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations on Wednesday. Both teams held training sessions in Yaounde on Tuesday as they prepare for a battle to reach the final. Senegal coach Aliou Cisse said it was high time Senegal bring home some hardware adding that he thinks his team has the talent to do so.

The Lions of Teranga and the Stallions will battle it out at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo on Wednesday with a spot in this year's AFCON final at stake. Neither team has won the competition in their history but both have come close, with Senegal finalists in 2019 and Burkina Faso in 2013. We're joined by Sports Editor Simon Harding and Eurosport's Ruben Slagter to take a look at which players are likely to take their teams to glory and what to expect from a match dripping with star names, including Sadio Mané and Bertrand Traoré.

Senegal are through to a second consecutive Africa Cup of Nations final after breaking Burkina Faso hearts in their last-four tie in Yaounde on Wednesday, Abdou Diallo, Idrissa Gana Gueye and Sadio Mane scoring second-half goals to secure a 3-1 victory.

The Lions of Teranga reign supreme! Senegal have put a new name on the AFCON trophy after beating Egypt 4-2 on penalties. It was a final of the goalkeepers as Senegal's Edouard Mendy and Egypt's Mohamed Abou Gabal, aka Gabaski, made some stunning saves to keep out the opposition. Gabal in particular thwarted a 5th minute Sadio Mané penalty. But after no team could be separated after 120 minutes, Mané made amends from the penalty spot to send his team into delirium. Jean-Emile Jammine is joined by Sports Editor Simon Harding, Sports Reporter James Vasina and Eurosport's Ruben Slagter for this special edition.

With more than 700 kilometres of coastline on the Atlantic Ocean, Senegal is one of the top fish producers in West Africa. This is one of the richest oceans in the world and that has attracted industrial fishing vessels from China. Aside from their fishing methods having massive repercussions on the environment, local fishermen say their own catch has dramatically dropped.
