In Group B, Senegal stay on top despite a disappointing 0-0 draw with Malawi. Plus, already-eliminated Zimbabwe go out with a victory against Guinea, who nevertheless move on to the knockout stage. Egypt came back from a Sofiane Boufal penalty to claim a 2-1 victory over Morocco in their quarter final match on Sunday. Mohamed Salah equalised for the Pharao's before setting up Trézéguet in extra time to knock out the Atlas Lions. In the other game, Senegal's Sadio Mané returned to set up Famara Diedhiou for their opener only for Equatorial Guinea to respond through Jannick Buyla. But Cheikhou Kouyaté & Ismaïla Sarr made sure of the 3-1 win for the Lions of Teranga.

In Morocco, rescuers are racing against the clock to save a young boy trapped in a well for almost three days. Five-year-old Rayan fell down a 32-metre deep well on Tuesday. Search crews have begun excavating a horizontal tunnel to reach him, but shaky soil is threatening the rescue operation.
