Families mark anniversary of Ethiopia Airlines crash

In tonight's edition: Bereaved families who lost loved ones aboard Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 converged on the crash site on to mark the first anniversary of the tragedy. In Nigeria, the influential former Emir of Kano speaks out after being removed from his position. His lawyers say his treatment is unconstitutional. Finally, we head to Morocco where women are gaining ground on the rap scene largely dominated by men.

Napoli unveiled a statue of club great Diego Maradona to mark the first anniversary of his death at the start of their Serie A match against Lazio on Sunday. Napoli put on a dazzling display, storming to a 4-0 win over Lazio on Sunday to move three points clear at the top of Serie A. Maradona died on Nov. 25 last year and to mark the anniversary, Napoli unveiled a statue inside the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium pre-match and wore shirts with the Argentine's face on them for the Lazio clash.

Fighting continues in Ethiopia, where rebel groups are advancing on the capital Addis Ababa. While much has been said about the northern front, where the army is at war with the Tigray Defense Forces (TDF), another armed group – allied to Tigrayans – is fighting from the south and west of the country. The Oromo Liberation Army (OLA) now controls a large swathe of territory. Together, the TDF and OLA plan to topple the government and take over the capital. The government accuses these rebel groups of committing crimes against civilians, including several massacres. Our regional correspondent reports.

Ethiopian authorities have closed all secondary schools so pupils can harvest crops for those on the frontline of the civil war, state-affiliated media says. ...
