Rail crosses are to be protected by road traffic, light signals, and full lifting barriers on each side of the railway alongside an audible warning to pedestrians and drivers to avoid accidents. GuardianTV explains why railway barriers are important.

A helicopter crashed into a building in the Oba Akran Ikeja area of Lagos State and burst into flames on Tuesday. Our correspondent gathered that the incident happened at about 3:30 pm.Though two people believed to be the pilots of the helicopter were rescued, it is not clear how many passengers were on board.
