Dogs can sniff out seizures

French scientists say they have proof that dogs can pick up the smell of an epileptic seizure. The University of Rennes team hopes the findings could lead to ways to predict when people will have a seizure.

Published in the journal Current Biology, dogs shed tears on being reunited with their owner after five to seven hours. Researchers also plan to study whether dogs produce tears when reunited with other canine pals.
