In an interview with FRANCE 24 on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, Iraq's Foreign inister Fuad Hussein said he was hoping to host a meeting in Baghdad between the foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia. Hussein said that after five meetings between intelligence officials of the two rival powers in recent months, it was time to upgrade and have the two top diplomats meet in person.

In an interview with FRANCE 24 on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, Saudi Arabia's foreign minister said that his country had concerns about a possible revived nuclear deal between Western powers and Iran, especially over IAEA inspections. However, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud said that even a flawed deal was better than no deal.

A football fan from Saudi Arabia has finally reached Doha after walking 1,600 kilometres from Jeddah to attend the Qatar World Cup matches. Abdullah Al Sulmi, 33, an experienced trekker, arrived on Monday after 55 days. All he carried was a backpack, trekking pole and Saudi and Qatari flags.
