Millions of Filipinos who earn cryptocurrency playing online games seem to think so. Players earn tokens they then trade in a virtual market for pesos or dollars. They can earn up to twice the minimum wage – an irresistible prospect for young Filipinos hoping to escape poverty. But cryptocurrencies are also extremely volatile.
